a suitable boy

no- this is not my life's mission (although maybe it should be). it is a book i just finished. a really long book. i am just happy that i finished it (and a bit surprised) and in just a few weeks. i guess that's what happens when you have the summer relatively off and find yourself with lots of free time. but don't rush out and get it, it was just an "ok" book, i didn't love it. the characters are great, but some of the side stories get a little long. and she did find a "suitable boy" at the end. but he is just suitable.

The Longest Day

i think if i could pick a day to celebrate it would be June 21: the first day of summer. i love summers. here are a few reasons why:

- the sun sets after 9pm.
- the eveings are warm
- it smells good- clean and fresh
- everyone is out having a good time
- great bbq weather
- the sunsets
- eating dinner on the porch in the backyard
- longer days = more time to play
- summer vacations
- camping trips
- bike rides
- hikes
- kids running through the sprinklers
- ice cream
- slurpees

these are some pics from last years summer. more to come for summer 2008...

yosemite

yosemite. it's one of the most beautiful places i've been. i take pictures every year i go, of the same thing. half dome. it's the landmark of the yosemite valley.

we camped, hiked, and had some great stories around the campfire. this is the "valley" with upper yosemite falls and half dome.

me and my old roommate, chelsea. with half dome in the background. we did the Panorama Trail. i think it's one of my favorite hikes. the views are great during the entire hike and it's fairly easy.

the standard "self-portrait"

the gang (almost, we're missing a few that didn't hike) on top of upper yosemite falls. another great trip!
